Artist | Seokhee Kim

Seokhee Kim was born in Pyeongchang, South Korea in 1970 and grew up in Seoul. She received her PhD in Language and Culture from Osaka University in Japan and is currently a research professor at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. She also works as a translator.

In addition to her scientific career, she has also been artistically active since the 1980s, when she was still a teenager. Her paintings emphasize the coexistence of East and West, the characteristics of watercolor and oil painting, and loneliness and happiness. She captures small but special moments in everyday life to create images that carry stories.
