The ship photo “Three Sailboats” was taken in Morro Bay California. It shows us the three eponymous vessels that anchored here. The boats are of course the main subject of the mural, but the weather conditions during which this work of art was created are no less interesting. At the time it was created, a thick fog lay over the bay and blocked almost every view. But the fog should clear and gradually allow the boats to be seen. The result of this photograph is an impressive natural effect in which the sky and water merge towards the edges of the image. The whiteness of the mist and the brightness of the water make it difficult for us to distinguish them from each other, creating a floating effect. Against this background, the boats stand out even more clearly.
